Day 91: Great Performance... fun shopping!

Today was, once again, a great day ! We had a matinee this morning and that was great ! I am loving this theatre business, I think I may drop out of uni and go to Broadway:) Hehe. Seriously though, I am loving every second of it. I am going to be so sad when it is over. I got my first present from my secret Santa today and it was a lovely box of chocolates. Anyway, after the show Mrs. Baldacchino took us shopping to this big place called Sears and there was so much stuff. Almost everything was on sale which was great and then when I went to pay for the stuff I was told there was another sale on that so I got everything even cheaper!! I was so happy!:) After shopping I went back to my room and later I went to dinner where I met some friends and had a good long chat. I love it when I meet lots of people in the cafeteria. Now I am off to bed. I am exhausted and tomorrow we have two performances, as we have an evening show too! Fun! So anyway, enjoy the pics and maybe I'll take some more tomorrow. PS: The one with the little boy under the tree is 'Tiny Tim' in the play. He said he wanted to come back with me to Malta so I should wrap him up like a present so no one would notice, and in the meantime I should put him under the tree like a present!!:) So cute!

Day 90: First Show... Last Lecture!!!

Today we had our first matinee and it was so so great!!! The theatre was packed with kids and they were such a great crowd. They clapped like crazy, and laughed in all the right parts and even went really quiet in the serious parts (like mine)!! It was great. The play ran really smoothly. There were one or two hiccups but they couldn't tell only we could but it was still fine!! Afterwards I had to rush to my last ever lecture at UPEI!!! I was so sad. I mean I can't believe that the end has already come. I still have a final paper to give in and an exam next week but other than that I am done and I don't exactly know how I feel about that. Anyway after my lecture I had lunch and then I spoke to my lovely mummy who I miss so much and then Karl and I had to go do some shopping at the Super Store and Dollarama. The cast of the play decided to do the Secret Santa, which is, for those of you who don't know, when everyone puts their name down on a separate piece of paper and these are put into a bowl. Then each person picks a name and keeps it secret, and for a certain amount of time each person has to buy little presents for the person whose name they picked up and leave them little notes with clues about who they are. Then on a stipulated day we all reveal whose 'Santa' we were!! We started it today and it is going on till next Wednesday which is the last day of performances. I love these sort of things so this evening I spent my time preparing little bags of things for my 'person' so that the person will have something everyday!! I love these things!!! Tomorrow we have another performance... exciting!!!

Day 89: Dress Rehearsal

Today we had the dress rehearsal for the play cause tomorrow we have our first matinee.... so excited!!! It went really well and I got to wear all my costumes and have full hair and make-up done and it was great! I managed to finish my history paper today... finally and now all I have left is a theology paper and an English exam and I am done!! I can't believe it!! Tomorrow is the start of ten shows and then all I will have left is four days and I am gone... crazy!! I can't believe it! If you want to read more about the performance click on

Day 88: Technical Rehearsal

Today we had the technical rehearsal for the play, it took ages but it was so much fun. I got to wear my dress and have my hair done for me which was great !:) It went really well though on the whole so I can't complain. I did some work this morning and went to mass and lunch where my dear friend Karl managed to get me into a very sticky situation... not his fault and I can't really talk about it here but remind me to tell you all about it when I get back!:) Anyway, in the afternoon I had lectures and after that we went to rehearsal, and now I am off ot bed as tomorrow I have to wake up early to finish my last ever history paper... yey!! Tomorrow is dress rehearsal... fun fun I get make-up done too :) PS: Don't you think that Karl looks like Shakespeare here?! I didn't like any of the pics of me so maybe tomorrow!:)

Day 87: Two weeks!

I simply cannot believe that in two weeks time I am leaving this island, it's scary and to be honest quite sad. I am really looking forward to seeing all my friends and family but I can't help feeling like this amazing opportunity is already passed me by and it will never come again. Have to stop thinking like this. Today was a good day. I did some work this morning and went to lunch. Later we were invited to dinner at Debbie and Lloyd's house which was lovely. We had chicken which tasted amazing! Afterwards we went to mass and then we went to Lisa's house to discuss the exchange program and what to do next, as when we get back we have to write a paper. It was a nice day, I am so excited for this week to begin. This Wednesday we start the play and then we go on everyday except Sunday till the following Tuesday. We have nine shows and it's so exciting!!! Tomorrow we have a technical rehearsal and Tuesday a dress rehearsal, then Wednesday it's show time!!

Day 86: Monologues.

This evening Karl took part in a night of monologues which was part of his theatre course. About fifteen people had to each present a monologue which was given to them by their lecturer a few weeks ago. Karl was nervous all day but it turned out really well. I went to watch it with Amy and Mike and it was really nice, and Karl's monologue was great! Afterwards we went to East Side Mario's, which is a type of Henry J. Beans place which was good fun. This morning I did some more work, and in the afternoon I had a rehearsal for the play. Later on at 5pm there was a Christmas parade which went past the universtiy, so Karl and I decided to go and watch it, thinking it would be a quick drive by. It lasted an hour and by the end of it we both nearly ended up with frost bite on our hands... literally. We spent the whole time taking pictures and we didn't wear any gloves. It was a really nice parade though and there were loads and loads of people! It was a nice day on the whole but I am really starting to realise how I am going to miss Amy and Mike like crazy... but they might come in the Summer so that will be great.

Day 85: Lazing...

I have to say that today was pretty relaxed. I woke up to do some work and I did do work for almost the whole day, but I didn't stress myself out too much just took my time at doing it. Later on I went to mass and lunch and in the evening, at about eleven Karl and I went to a friend's house where we met loads of people and then we went to this dance club called 'Velvet Underground'. It was ok I guess... felt a bit squashed. Anyway that was pretty much it. I got home at about 2am and spent about half and hour reading a good book, something I hadn't done in a while.

Day 84: Frost!

Last night, as I walked back to my room I could see everything frosting up but it was dark so I didn't get a really good look. This morning however I woke up and saw this... amazingly beautiful!! It melted though within half an hour which was quite sad. The temperature has really dropped all of a sudden so maybe we will actually see snow! Today I had quite a relaxed day. I did some work in the morning, went to mass, lunch and later went to where I volunteer and then had a rehearsal for the play. It was good fun. Karl and I came back starving so we got pizza delivery, but I didn't like the pizza so I had cereal instead :) Oh well. Tomorrow is another relaxed day but I am going to be working on two final papers so I will be doing work. Night night... Love you ma loads and loads xxx :)

Day 83: Embarrassing!!

I just got home and I just had a really embarrassing moment! I went out this evening to the Wave (the on campus bar) and I forgot my key card in my room. Anyway, I didn't bother too much cause I knew I could just call security and they would come with the master key. Anyway I decided to leave at about one and met a securtiy guard on my way to the building and we had a chat about where I am from etc... Anyway he opened my door and asked to see some I.D so I showed him my Maltese I.D and he said it was good enough. Miss Goody offered to go inside her room and get her key card to show it to him too to make sure and he said no need but I said I really don't mind and he said ok then. So I went in my room and where usually my card is in a good visible place, tonight it was nowhere to be seen! I couldn't find it anywhere and I knew he was waiting outside the door. So I had to go out of my room and tell him I couldn't find it... hence making him think that I really wasn't living in that room and now he demanded to see my key! So I thought I may have left it in Karl's apartment so I knocked on his door, waking him up, and while he looked all through his room I was looking through mine in the meantime the guard is thinking I am crazy! I found it eventually in the midst of a pile of make-up and jewellery... hehe :) Oh well I really managed to make a fool of myself. Today I went shopping with Mrs.Baldacchino... it was great fun and I went crazy, yet again!!! Then in the afternoon I had a history presentation which I think went quite well thank God. Later on I had a rehearsal for the show and today we worked on the actual stage... great fun!! Today week we have our first performance and today month I land back in Malta !!

Tuesday, November 21, 2006

Day 82: DVD!!

Today I woke up early to work on my presentation for tomorrow, spoke to my mum on the phone and went to mass. That is when the highlight of my day happened!! I went to check my post just before mass and there it was ... I had a parcel and it was the Sicily DVD!! I was so excited. I have beed dying to see it! Anyway, I had to wait ages to see it. I went to mass, then to lunch and then like a really good girl, I went back to my room and finished my presentation work and then I sat down to watch the DVD. Oh my goodness it is briliiant but there are a few embarasssing moments of me!! I loved it though! Anyway, later on I had choir rehearsal for the play and then I came back to my room to type out my presentation. Tomorrow I am going shopping with Mrs. Baldacchino in the morning and then I have my presentation in the afternoon. Ah... time is flying!

Monday, November 20, 2006

Day 81: Another exam done!

Today I gave in another take home exam and I received another one back. I did quite well thank goodness, but as I gave in the other exam today I noticed that all I have are three more things to give in and one more presentation and I'm done. It's really scary to think that it is almost all over. Today I woke up to do some reading and sort out a few things I needed to get done. Then I went to mass and lunch and afterwards to my two lectures. Later on I had a rehearsal for the play and it was once again a run through and it went really really well. I am really enjoying it and I can't wait to start the actual performances now. This evening I took it easy and just continued some of my puzzle. Tomorrow I have no lectures but I need to get up early to work on a presentation for Wednesday and in the evening I have another rehearsal. Fun fun fun !!!

Day 80: Christmas Shopping!

Today I woke up extra early as Mrs.Baldacchino came for us to take us to 8.30am mass at this lovely little chapel and then afterwards she took us to these two Christmas shops which were amazing!! We got there when they were still closed so first we went for tea to Tim Hortons and had a lovely chat!! Then we spent ages going round the two shops and I bought a few things which I am so pleased with! We then went back to the cafeteria for lunch and after had a rehearsal for the play and today was the first time we put everything together, and considering, it went quite well. Now tomorrow we have the first run through. I tried on one of my costumes and it was really nice. I then went back to my room as I had a take home exam for tomorrow and I wanted to do it now better than tomorrow morning. Now I am off to bed. Had a nice today altogether... very nice!

Day 79: Beautiful Ballet

I just got home from watching one of the most beautiful ballets I have ever seen. Tonight Karl and I went to watch 'The Messiah' based on the music of Handel. The ballet company is called the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and it is one of the best in Canada. I was dumbfounded from beginning to end, it was absolutely amazing! This morning I did some work and in the afternoon I had rehearsal for the play. We are getting really excited now cause we soon start and all is coming together really nicely now! I got back to my room in time to shower and change and then James (my history lecturer who is also the husband of the lady in charge of our exchange in Canada) came for us with his two young girls, as Lisa, his wife is abroad at the moment. It was a really great day but an especially amazing evening. We also got the bus today back home after rehearsal which is always really nice because the bus is so sweet and it's fun to look at the scenery while we go around, especially since everything is decorated for Christmas. Tomorrow another full day of rehearsals and plays!

Day 78: Tourist Day!

Today was a tiring but really fun day. Karl and I decided to go down town to see all that we can see there as we never really went there much. We walked down at 9.30am and went into every possible shop and road we could find. There was such a lovely atmosphere. Everywhere was decorated with Christmas decorations and carols were playing too. We managed to get some stuff and we also went to this really well known ice-cream shop which has the best ice-cream on the island as well as some really cool souvenirs. They get anything that is well known and turn it into a cow theme as the name of the shop is called 'Cows'. Karl, for example, got a T-shirt of 'Pirates of the Cowibean'. With every purchase we made we got free ice-cream and it was delicious and we even got a picture with the cow!! At about 4.30pm we got the bus back as we were too tired to walk home and soon after Mr.Baldacchino came for us as we were invited to dinner. We had a really great evening and afterwards we wanted to take some pics and laughed so hard... timers seem to always do that. Anyway we were walking to our room on the way back and someone told us she saw Karl on the front page of the Entertainment section of the newspaper. We rushed to the petrol station across the road and bought the paper, and there he was ! It was about the play we are in and there were two really good pics of him during rehearsals. Tomorrow we have another rehearsal and I am really looking forward to it. I also have some work to do so up early!

Day 77: Education Classes Over

Today I had my last education class and I have to say that I was really sad. I can't believe that everything is finishing so quickly, but it is. I woke up extra early today as I had to prepare the food for the lecture. I also had to go to the computer lab to print some assignments and go and post them in my lecturer's letter box. Then I went for my lecture and it was quite good. We spoke about a book we had to read and during the break, everyone had some of the food we brought which was all red, because we tried to keep with the character of the book who would only eat red food. After the lecture I went with some of the girls in my class for lunch to Swiss Chalet, a really good chicken restaurant and we had a great lunch. Afterwards I went to meet Karl at the cafetreria and then go to the Education building because I noticed I lost my key/food/student card and was hoping I dropped it there, which I did. My mum rang a little later and at 3.30 Karl and I left to go to the community centre where we volunteer but our ride never showed up and I felt terrible because I had promised the kids I would be there today and I was stranded. Anyway, we decided to go for a snack at a small cafeteria on campus and we stayed there for a good while just chatting till we went back to our rooms where I did some doodling, writing and continued on my puzzle. It was a relaxed evening. Tomorrow we should be going down town since we have only been once and can afford to not do much for a day. Should be fun... tell you all about it!

Day 76: Finished!!!

Today I finally finished those final papers I had due for this week. It is such a relief and this evening I went out with my education friends to celebrate the end of the semester as we finished education lectures this week as their teaching practice starts next week. I had a great time... it's fun being with them outside school. Today I finished the papers in the morning, went to lectures in the afternoon and had to do some shopping as tomorrow I am making my class hobz biz-zejt for our last lesson! :) It was a good day though... tomorrow I'll sleep all afternoon I think!

Tuesday, November 14, 2006

Day 75: Fun Rehearsal!!

Today was a packed but really nice day. I had to wake up extra early as the kids from the community centre were coming for the morning to school and I had to go and pick them up from their town. So a friend of mine came for me and dropped me off there, I waited till they all got there and then we got on a cab and off we went. We spent the morning taking them around uni and they seemed to really enjoy it. Then I went with them in the cab to take them back to school and home and then I went back to residence to finish off some work. I went for lunch with Karl and then off to my lecture which was the last one as education courses finish this week. After the lecture I went straight to rehearsal and it was so much fun. We spent the first two hours learning a short dance routine and then the last hour on the scene between myself and Scrooge. It was very intimidating at first but then it got better and now I am really looking forward to the next rehearsal. Oh well altogether it was a great day... tomorrow it's back to the books for me!

Monday, November 13, 2006

Day 74: Non- stop writing!

Oh my goodness I just didn't stop today!! I woke up early to start some work as I have four final papers due this week. I started typing at 9am and except for lunch I didn't stop till 8.30pm this evening!! I managed to finish three papers though and I am feeling very pleased with myself but now my eyes are burning so bad!! I am really looking forward to tomorrow. In the morning the kids from the place I volunteer are coming for the morning to university for us to take them round and give them a morning in the life of a university student. We basically want to motivate them and show them where they can get to if they take school seriously and keep their grades up. It should be really nice and then in the evening I have my first dance and acting rehearsal for the play... hehe hope I manage ok. Oh well I'm of to sleep now cause up early tomorrow.

Sunday, November 12, 2006

Day 73: Rehearsal

Today I had a rehearsal for 'The Christmas Carol' and today we concentrated on the carols which we will be singing at the beginning and at the end of the play... I was put in the sopranos :) I spent the rest of the day trying to finish off the papers I have due for Tuesday; not very successful I admit but at least I finished the reading so hopefully tomorrow I can finish them. This week I finish all my Education courses which is quite sad but I am missing everyone back home very much so I guess I am happy and sad at the same time. I also went to mass and dinner tonight which was a nice break between work, but now I am off to sleep cause I really really want to finish my work tomorrow. Night night.

Day 72: "Lest we forget"

Today I went to watch a game between UPEI and SFX (another university) and unfortunately we lost by 6 points but it was great fun and the atmosphere was really good as it was a home game so the majority of people were from UPEI so the support was huge! I spent most of my day working on some papers due this week. I got to speak to my mum and my dear dear Grandma Edith who I miss so very much! It was nice talking to her. After the game Karl and I took our usual walk down to Tim Hortons for a drink and we had a good chat about what we want to do when we get back home and what else we want to do before we leave. Tomorrow is a busy day. I have to finish two papers, go to a rehearsal for 'The Christmas Carol' and go to mass. Oh well I'm sure I'll manage. Today's title is a very famous quote which is seen everywhere on this day, as here in Canada it is Remembrance Day for all those who lost their life during the war and for all those 1,600,000 who fought for Canada . Everyone was wearing poppies and all around the country there were remembrance ceremonies. It was a great day of unity and peace.

Day 71: What a day!

Today was a really good day. I woke up early and did some work I needed to get done and then at 12 we went to where we volunteer as the kids had the presentation today. They were all there and they were so excited!! I was so happy that they all turned up and some of them even came at about 7am to see if they could help!! Anyway the time for the presentation came and up they went. They were so good. Everything they said and everything they did was so meaningful, I was honestly on the verge of tears I was so proud. Afterwards we went back to university as I needed to do some more work and I spent alot of time at the library. Later I did my laundry and afterwards Amy came for us as she invited us for dinner. We had such a great evening! First we had a lovely dinner of BBQ chicken and potatoes and the most amazing chocolate orange cheese cake and then we brought out Cranium... a really really fun board game and we liked it so much we played three games. It was such a fun evening we didn't want to leave but it was late then. I am so glad we did this. I have loads of work to do this weekend and it was a good stress reliever before I start again.

Day 70: Rain, rain and more rain!

Last night I went to bed and it was raining. This morning I woke up and it was raining, and it didn't stop till about 4pm!! And it wasn't just normal rain, it was a heavy rain with a savage wind that really whipped you in the face and made it so hard to walk! Anyway, drama over, today was an ok day. I woke up and went to my lecture where I had to give my presentation. I have to admit that it didn't go as well as I had hoped it would have but it wan't bad either, just ok. After my lecture I went to mass and then to lunch to the Student Centre with Karl and Linda, a friend of mine. I also succeeded in spilling hot water all over my hand as I didn't secure the lid of my cup of tea on properly and it tipped over and woosh... my hand was nice and burning. Oh well, it was soon over. I then went to my room to speak to my mum on the phone and afterwards headed off to where I do voluntary work for our final rehearsal before tomorrows presentation. It went quite well on the whole I think. Karl and I then went to the cafeteria for a snack and then back to my room where I spent some time chatting to a friend of mine on msn before I went to do some of my puzzle and now I'm off to bed. I have so much to do this weekend, including four final papers for Tuesday. Help!

Day 69: Brilliant!!

Oh my, I had such an amazing day today, but it was amazing only because of the evening the morning part was nothing speacial. Before I go any further I just want to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to LEXI... my closest friend ever!! Hope you had an amazing day, you deserve every bit! Anyway... today I woke up and went to my last Foundations lecture, we were in tears by the end of it cause we loved that class. Afterwards I went to mass and then had a snack on my own...boo hoo... Karl couldn't make it to lunch today. Anyway, I then went to my other lectures, spoke to my mum on the phone and then went to the community centre where I volunteer to help the kids rehearse for a presentation we are putting up on Friday... they're great. Afterwards we came back to residence and went for dinner where we met the other international students who told us to go with them to the Wave (the bar on campus) to play Trivia later on. We decided to go to play one game and then leave. We went and after the first game decided to stay for the second and after the second we were chalenged to a game of pool by the Swedes and miracle of miracles Karl and I won!!! I put 4 in!! After the game ended I went to get my jacket to go and I met loads of my friends from my education course and it was so weird to see them out of class setting and I got on so well with them chatting, till suddenly we were asked to leave cause they were closing!! How could that be?? I came at 9pm and hadn't been there long. Yeh... it was 2am. I am now writing to you half asleep about to go to bed. I have a presentation tomorrow aaaaaaaaa but it was worth it, I loved every second of this evening.

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

Day 68: Deep into work

Today was a full but good day. I woke up early to work on a presentation I have to give on Thursday and did that till it was time for mass. I went to mass and then lunch and we stayed there for ages cause we met laods of friends and chatted for ages!! I think by the end of it we were all the international students on one one long table!! It was fun though. Anyway, I then went quickly to my room to get my stuff and went off to a lecture on Culture and Society. Afterwards I went to my room, put some warmer clothes on as it is now 2 degrees here and Karl and I set off for our first rehearsal for the play which is about 35 mins walk away. The reahearsal went really well. We finished Scene 1 and it looks really nice. I am so excited about it! Anyway we decided to go to the cafeteria afterwards for a snack and there we met some of the other international students again and had another good chat. At about 10.30 pm we went back to our rooms and I managed to finish my presentation plus the handouts to go with it... Karl decded to photograph this time working as you can see. Now I'm done and ready to go to bed.

Monday, November 06, 2006

Day 67: Snow!!!

Today I saw my first snow fall ever!!! Mass was just ending when I heard someone say... 'Oh look it's snowing'. The priest gave the blessing and I shot out of there. Karl and I went crazy. We rushed to our rooms for our cameras and spent ages just laughing and fooling on the lawn outside our residence. It wasn't even a big snowfall but to us it was snow and we loved it. It stopped though after a while and melted in a few mintues :( Can't wait for some more now. It's really nice but it melts so quickly! Oh well. Today I did some work in the morning and then went to mass, got all excited when I saw the snow... hence the terrible pic (but you should see snow falling in the background), went to lunch and then lectures and then at 6.30pm I went to my first meeting for the show. It was great. I have been cast as Ebeneezer's fiance and I love my part! Hehe... hope I remember my lines now!! It was a fun evening, we did a 'read through' of the play and it was so nice though intimidating cause some of them are real professionals and I felt rather inferior but it was great. Then I met Karl at the cafeteria for some tea as he couldn't make it to the meeting cause he had an exam. Now I am off to be as I have work to do tomorrow and in the evening our first rehearsal... fun!!

Sunday, November 05, 2006

Day 66: Turkey Dinner

I had a really nice day today. I woke up early to do some work and I managed to finish so much work I am so happy. In between all this I went to lunch and met a few friends and then later on I went to 6pm mass and straight after Amy came for us as we were invited to Mike's house for a Turkey dinner, and oh my is his mum a good cook. It was absolutely delicious and she had the most amazing vegetables and other side plates to go with it!! Then we had blueberry pie and ice-cream for desert. It was great and then afterwards we spent some time just relaxing on the sofa having a good old laugh. Thank you Stella, your cooking was amazing!! What I really enjoyed though was being in a home having dinner round a table with good conversation. University life is fun but I do miss a home setting and this was great, Mike's family is so nice and I feel so comfortable around them. Tomorrow another full week of lectures but I am really looking forward to my first cast meeting of the musical in the evening, should be fun!

Day 65: Exciting News!

Today I had some really exciting news. Each year the main theatre on the island puts on a Christmas musical and this year they are putting up A Christmas Carol better known as Srooge. Anyway Karl received an e-mail yesterday saying they were looking for cast and we e-mailed saying we were interested and today we got a call back saying that we have both been accepted based on our previous experience! Karl has been given the role of 'The Voice of Christmas Past' and I have to go to a cast meeting on Monday to see what part I have. I am so excited to think that a few weeks ago I was watching Anne of Green Gables on that stage and soon I might be on it!! I never thought I would get this opportunity before I left and now I have ... so so happy! Anyway, today I didn't do much socially. I spean the day working on a take-home exam I have due for Monday and a presentation I have to give next Thursday. I am quite pleased cause I managed to do both and tomorrow I can concentrate on other stuff. Off to bed now as I want to wake up early again tomorrow. The days are flying, I'll soon be home can't wait yet I'm sad to leave... very mixed feelings. Oh well, night night.

Day 64: Shopped till we dropped!

Oh my today was a long day. I woke up quite late as Friday is the one day a week I give myself to sleep in and I did. I woke up with the intention of doing loads of work but one thing led to another and I ended up doing no work at all. After I woke up my mum called and I spent some time chatting to her till it was time to go to mass, and after mass I met Karl for lunch. On my way back to my room after lunch I took a film I wanted developed to the Super Store and then I went back to my room to do some clearing up and sorted out a few things. Later on at about 5pm we decided to go to the mall so, we picked up my pics which were ready and walked to the mall. We went into every single shop in the place... they have amazing stuff!! I did get a few things, mind you, not all for myself, but I was really pleased. Anyway after looking at every last stand we decided to go for something to eat at Tim Hortons before going back to the residence so off we went. We spent quite a while there just chatting about our time here so far and what we want to do in the last bit we are here for. Anyway, I'm back now and it's 11.20pm so I'm off cause tomorrow I really want to wake up early and work!!

Day 63: Relaxing

I have to admit that today was quite a relaxing day. I did wake up a bit nervous as I had a presentation to do for my 8.20am lecture but it went really really well thank God. She liked the presentation alot and said it was communicated really well. After my lecture I went to do some research at the library and then had lunch. After lunch I just relaxed for a bit as at 3.30pm we we had to go to the community centre where we do some voluntary work. I really really enjoyed it. Next week we are putting up a small presentation for some people who might be interested in sponsoring the project next year. These kids really need this but it all depends on others who are willing to help out. It was amazing though how the kids came up with their own skits and speeches and we just helped them out and they were great! Anyway, afterwards Brent took us out for a drink to the Old Dubliner... I love that place and there was a really good band playing. We had a nice evening, thanks Brent! Now I am off to sleep cause tomorrow I need to sit down to a take-home exam and I need to be wide awake!!

Day 62: New Baby to the Tabone family!

I am very pleased to announce that this morning at 9.15am, weighing 3.2 kg, my darling cousin Matthew and his girlfriend Veronica had a beatiful baby girl Jamie Kay. I am so so happy for them... can't wait to see her!! At the time she was born it was 4 am here and my mom texted me and as I read it a barage of messages started coming in from my family, it was such an exciting moment. It is in moments like these that I really see just how important family is. I mean we were all so excited about the arrival of someone we never even met and even before she was born she was part of the family and we couldn't wait to meet her! It's so exciting as she is the first baby in the Tabone family to be born in Malta for ages. The others are all abroad!! Oh well I am now a very proud cousin or something... not too sure what I am called in relation to this baby! Anyway, today was a great day just becasue I was so excited about this baby but I had a really good lecture this morning.. my favourite one of the week, Foundations in English. She gave me back an assignment and asked of she could keep a copy to read to her class next year... I was so pleased! Later I went to mass and then to other lectures. I came back to do some work and at 5.30pm we had a pizza party in the building lounge for the Halloween decorating contest we had last week. Then I went to do some groceries quickly and then I came back to do some work for a presentation I have tomorrow. Now I'm done and I'm off to do some of my puzzle and have an early night!!
