Happy Easter to all my fluffy friends!

Just wanted to write a quick note to wish everyone a really Happy Easter. May you eat Easter eggs till you drop and for all those Maltese reading this, may you eat even more figolla's than you have ever eaten before... for those who are not Maltese, be jealous... you really should be. Anyway, since my last post, nothing too exciting has happened. This weekend we had the usual Easter services which were quite nice, with a great presentation on Good Friday... well done everyone! Oh... Yesterday I read during mass in Maltese! And despite the teasing I got before, and the enormous amount of coughing fits everyone seemed to have got just as I started reading, I read really well :) I'm a good girl I am :):) Anyway, no idea what I am going to do today; all I know is that as of tomorrow it's back to work for me with loads to do for uni before the year ends. So for now... Happy Easter, I love you all and for those not in this beautiful country of Malta, I miss you all xxx

TEACHING PRACTICE OVER... GREAT NIGHT CELEBRATING!

So... the weeks of stress and tension are gone, my teaching practice is over and boy did we celebrate with a bang! Yesterday was our last day teaching and I have to say it was quite an emotional day. The girls were miserable the whole of the time because they didn't want us to leave and when it was time to leave many of them were really crying and it made me quite sad too! There were many difficult kids but then there were others who truly won me over and I know I am going to miss them. I got a lovely key chain, loads of letters and a box of chocolates :) Anyway, in the evening we had decided to celebrate the end of teaching practice in a big way, so at 8.45 I passed for my dearly beloved Gozitan darlings and guess what they were not ready! They all went over to one of the girl's house and of all days the geezer broke down so they had to wash with water from the kettle. As you can imagine it took ages so we got to the restaurant (our first stop) at 9.30... the others had been waiting for quite a while. Anyway, we got there eventually and had a meal together, all 11 of us. It was nice to spend some time together, we chatted about the past few weeks and what we are going to do during the holidays. We left there at about 11.30 pm and said bye to a few of the girls who weren't coming along with us afterwards. It was sad saying bye because some of them we will not be seeing again as they are PGCE's and not B.Ed's. Anyway, we then went off to Jamy's flat, and that's where the boo's came out. It was quite funny to watch actually... I don't like the taste of alcohol, hence, I don't drink so I just chatted, posed for pictures and well... chatted, while the others drank glasses of everything under the sun. At about 1.30am it was time for our next stop. We had decided to go to a Karaoke in Paceville. As soon as we stepped out of the door we noticed it was pouring with rain, but well... seeing that I was the only one thinking we were crazy, majority won and we left anyway. We parked and found that the bar was closed so since it was raining quite heavily by now we said first place that is open we go in no matter where!... Where do we end up? ... Havana. Enough said. We got up there, almost empty and just started dancing together. In the meantime, the only guy who was with us brought a tray of Vodka shooters, and all the girls had one (or two) each. Then he brought another one, and another... well basically he ended up getting about 5. The others, by then were feeling quite bad so they decided to buy a tray themselves. Anyway, by the end of it I calculated about 13 were bought.... you can imagine the effects. I had the joy of watching my friends become very good dancers and meet people they never met before, yet they acted like they knew them for ages... no comment. I had fun dancing with the ones who were still semi-conscious, until there were none of those left and then, well, I still danced with them, but only till they found someone more interesting. In the end one of my friends got very very sick and a few of us ended up looking after her in the bathroom as she proudly announced that she couldn't see anything and that she just needed to sit down for a few minutes... well, it sort of lasted 2 hours but anyway. At about 4.30 am we decided it was time to go back home cause she wasn't getting any better. We left, tucked her into bed, and then packed ourselves into bed as we had all decided to sleep there afterwards. By the time I slept it was 5.30am and by 8.00 am everyone was up. I think that fact that 6 of us had to sleep in two single beds kind of contributed to that a little bit... it can get quite uncomfortable! Anyway, we chatted for a while, cleared up and then said our goodbyes. Once again quite sad but at least these are in my course so I'll see them for the next year and a half! So... that's my update... now it's back to being a student and concentrating on my thesis and loads of assignments and exams! Hehe... I'll write again soon!
