Great Weekend!

I have to say that this weekend was probably the best since I came back from Canada. It was a chance to catch up with some old friends and get closer to newer friends... I really enjoyed it. It started Saturday night at Becky and Steve's house. I was amazed at how beautifully they have done up the house my goodness... it really is a dream! Anyway Becky made a lovely plate of pasts for us and we just spent the evening chatting and laughing our heads off... it was great. We were such a nice bunch and it was good to be together after such a long time. Becky then surprised Kevin with a birthday cake as it is his birthday this week and that too was delicious... she's a great cook! I really did enjoy that evening. Sunday I woke up to a message from another friend of mine Mariella, asking if I would like to join them for a cook out in Bahrija... wow, what a day. Once again, a really nice bunch and the place we were in was out of this world. I am almost ashamed to say that in the 21 years I have been on this island I have never been there. After lunch (thanks to the guys for cooking) we went for a really long walk in the cliffs all the way down to the sea... it took about 3 hours but every second was worth it. The views and the fresh air... wow, I honestly can't think of anything more to say. Sharon and Stephen were our guides as they do this alot and knew their way really well and they really did take us to the nicest part. This weekend really was an amazing one. After something like that, getting down to some serious work this week doesn't seem too bad now!! Thanks guys!

Long long time...

First of all I would like to apologise for having left so much time pass since my last blog. I have so much to do and I just can't seem to get down to it! Things are crazy at the moment with uni and just simply trying to catch up on everything I missed! Now I have two weeks of no uni as it is the time for tests and since I did all my exams in Canada I get the two weeks 'off' however I am still slaving at home on my thesis and work I missed out on, so not really a holiday! Nothing new has really happened lately except that I now have a new hair cut...shortest it's ever been in about 15 years. Not too sure if I like it yet but most people said it suits me so I guess it's ok. I start teaching practice in three weeks time and I have to admit I am quite nervous but at the same time looking forward to it. However, I still don't know where I am going to be or what year I will be teaching so that is a bit worrying. We (as in Malta) now have a new Arch Bishop who was consecrated yesterday. He is a really really lovely guy and kind of reminds me of Pope John Paul II, the Maltese love him, he is always smiling and laughing and talking to everyone he meets. Such a simple man and yet very very wise. I think he is going to be great, I can't wait! Yesterday I watched the whole ceremony which was really interesting and fun at the same time as I got to see some of my seminarian friends and priests. They all looked very pomp throughout the ceremony, funny when then I see them at uni soo different. Don't know if you will ever read this but well done Kevin... you read the gospel beautifully!!:) Tonight I am off to a pasta night with some of my closest friends at their new house which they will move into once married this April... can't wait Becky and Steve!!:) Rob... I can't believe you actually ate those chicken legs my goodness they look horrible, hope they tasted good at least! This year is going to be one full of events, loads of my friends are getting married, my cousin is getting married and all my family from all over are coming and I get to read in Maltese hehe.... should be fun! Oh well I will leave you now, hopefully not for so long this time... till my next blog. See ya!

It's been a while...

I'd like to apologise for not updating my blog in such a long time but things have been mad here. First of all Happy Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! I can't believe it, I have been in Malta almost two weeks now... where is the time going?! The day after I landed My aunt, uncle and cousin came from England for a week and that was great fun. We had a lovely Christmas lunch at the Victoria and went to dinner with the rest of my family later on that week. I basically spent the week with the family going round different places and basically just being. Boxing day, I went to Portomaso with some of my friends which was really nice as I hadn't seen them in ages. New Year's Eve was a big hit! Oh my what fun that was. We had a dinner/dance party at the Dolmen and after dinner we didn't stop dancing till 2am, I loved every second of it and I think I danced with every person possible that night. It was great. I ended up getting home at 6.30am ... got to see the first sunrise of the year which was beautiful! Anyway, for New Year's we went to my other side of the family and had dinner. There were so many people, as some of my aunts and uncles came from England, Italy and Australia, plus baby Jamie who is now two months old and more adorable than ever! Afterwards I went for a drink with some of my friends who kindly sang happy birthday at the top of their voices to me in the middle of the restaurant... embarrassing. Anyway, yesterday I went out with my mum and gran in the morning and the I watched Dejavu with my mum in the afternoon... tremendous film... everyone should watch it honestly. Later on I went to Hank's as Jonathan very kindly organised for everyone to meet there for my birthday. It was a lovely evening and a BIG thank you to everyone who came and for my lovely present (ipod shuffle) I love it!! Today is the beginning of hard work. I went to uni this morning to start getting everything sorted to get back into my uni work... there is tons to do but it is all worth it. So anyway, a brief description of my past two weeks, I'll try not to allow so much time to pass by before I write again... till then Happy New Year... make the best of it!
